Ashwell
School is a Community School with between 255 and 280 pupils on roll. It is at the northernmost point of Hertfordshire, adjacent to the boundaries with Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
The
school was founded in 1878 and substantial extensions
were opened in 1957, 1974, 1997 and 2008. There are
now 10 classrooms, a music room and 2 halls. There is also a heated, open air swimming pool on the site and an additional flat playground for PE etc. on a detached site in the village.
